ODMS successfully conducted a seminar titled "Polythene Pollution: Challenges, Alternatives, and Sustainable Solutions" on 17 December 2024. Prof. Chowdhury Monirul Hasan, from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chittagong, delivered an informative and interactive presentation on the inventory of biodegradable products derived from red algae as a sustainable alternative to polythene. The District Commissioner and District Magistrate, Farida Khanom, attended as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Zahidul Hoque Kochi served as the Special Guest. The program was presided over by the Chairman of ODMS, Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam.
