I am Md Leion Hassan, currently serving as a Research Officer at ODMS, Bangladesh, specializing in oceanography, environmental science, and climate science. My research endeavors focus on understanding the complex interactions between phytoplankton dynamics and climatic phenomena. At present, I've contributed to 12 publications in international and national journals, showcasing my dedication to advancing scientific knowledge.
My expertise extends to various facets of climate science, including but not limited to remote sensing, GIS applications, seaweeds, carbon sequestration, and aquaculture. Through these multidisciplinary projects, I strive to deepen our comprehension of coastal and marine environments, thereby facilitating their sustainable management and conservation.
In addition to my scholarly pursuits, I have taken an active role in community engagement initiatives, notably as the founding president of the Chittagong University Nature Club (CUNC). Here, I have endeavored to instill a sense of environmental stewardship and sustainability among my peers, further underlining my dedication to fostering positive change beyond academia.
Currently, my focus lies in studying the impacts of climate change on marine and coastal ecosystems and communities. By combining my expertise in oceanography with a commitment to social responsibility, I'm driven to contribute meaningfully to our understanding of our planet's oceans and their resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
